In Buffalo: Urban planning takes on new heights
I think it could be a good idea. Jobs, cheap goods for the poor, and a use for urban wasteland. This is where stores like Wal-Mart should have been located in the first place. Any other opinions?

Struggling areas need local and sustainable economies. While Wal-Mart might provide some (extremely low-paying jobs), most of the money will leave the area. The answer isn't globalization or these huge companies; it's the boosting of local economies.
I'd love to say more, but I'm in the middle of writing something else.
